Excitement is building ahead of this year’s Gomoa Easter Carnival as members of the Commonwealth Hall, popularly known as Vandals, gear up to make a bold and vibrant appearance in Gomoa.
The Vandals, a historic and influential student body from the University of Ghana, are renowned for their unmatched brotherhood, deep-rooted traditions, and their fearless culture anchored on the famous motto, “Truth Stands.”
Established in 1957, Commonwealth Hall remains the only all-male hall on campus and continues to shape a unique identity that blends activism, leadership, and strong unity.
This year’s Easter celebration is expected to take on a whole new dimension as the Old Vandals Association (OVA) leads the charge, bringing together alumni and current students for a memorable takeover of Gomoa. The event promises a fusion of culture, networking, and celebration, as Vandals from across the country converge in grand style.
High-profile personalities are set to headline the gathering, including traditional leader Nana Osompa Nyamekye II, OVA Greater Accra President Andy Akwetea, and Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central Kwame Asare Obeng( A PLUS), who will serve as host.
The “Special Invitation to VMates” signals a powerful reunion and a call to all Vandals to represent and celebrate their legacy. Organizers say the event will not only highlight the rich culture of the Vandals but also contribute to the growing popularity of the Gomoa Easter festivities as one of Ghana’s must-attend holiday experiences.
