Mr. Stephen Asamoah Boateng, Director General of the State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA) has urged the 275 Constituency Chairpersons of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) to build a united front for the party to retain power come 2024 General Elections.
Asabee, as affectionately known by many, urged the party’s chairpersons to rally behind the government to implement its policies successfully, during an interaction at the Inauguration and Workshop of the NPP Constituency Officers Welfare at Koforidua, the Eastern Regional capital.
He said he is ready to Chair the Party and organize it as the preferred Party of Choice by Ghanaians. He added that he will come up with strategies and energize the grassroots and make the Party a fighting and winning machinery poised to break the 8 year cycle and beyond when given the nod as National Chairman.
According to him, he is not an armchair person and will move to mobilize and motivate the party base to bridge the gap between his office and that of government.
He added that it is only the NPP that can steer and govern the nation to the path of economic prosperity for the individual wellbeing of the average Ghanaian.
He indicated that the Party’s chairmanship position is a serious business and said that the current gap between grassroots, the top of the Executives and government doesn’t augur well.
“I’m appealing to you all to support my candidature when I formally file to contest. I will be there for you, I am a grassroots person. I know the party inside-out. I have been a Minister of State, Member of Parliament and held other party positions so I believe I have what it takes to know and feel the pulse of our members and well-wishers to help bring victory to the party,” he ended.
