The program, under the leadership of Dr. Augustine Gyasi, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Aujess Co. Ltd, the ‘Big Campaign Walk’ was designed to draw attention to the imperative of maintaining peace and stability, particularly in regions where electoral violence is a concern. Dr. Gyasi highlighted the necessity of addressing societal issues related to peace as part of the company’s broader social obligations.

The walk was spearheaded by Barima David Opei, 42, a passionate resident of Sankore, who expressed his desire to start the journey from his hometown to symbolize the grassroots nature of the peace movement.

His participation served as a reminder of the local communities’ stakes in ensuring peaceful elections free of violence that so often disrupts business activities and community development.

The official launch of the event brought together local chiefs, pastors, and elders from Sankore, marking the beginning of a significant community effort to promote a violence-free electoral atmosphere. The event kicked off with much fanfare, embracing the spirit of unity and collective responsibility towards peace.

What distinguished this historic walk was its organization and the arrangements made for the safety and comfort of the participants.

An official branded vehicle from Aujess Co. Ltd accompanied the marchers, providing a visible symbol of the company’s commitment and involvement. The walk benefited from robust security arrangements, overseen by Dr. George Akuffo Danpare, the Inspector General of Police, (IGP) ensuring that the event was conducted smoothly and safely.

Participating in the walk was not just a matter of physical presence; it also incorporated messages of peace through music. Renowned gospel musician Mark Anim Yirenkyi. , a member of the Lamptey in the Kasoa branch of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, (SDA) performed a motivational song titled “SAY NO TO WAR,” originally composed by musician Banky.

His heartfelt performance served to echo the sentiments of the walk, emphasizing the importance of rejecting violence in all its forms.

To further amplify the message of peace, Aujess  Co. Ltd organized a press conference prior to the walk, where Dr. Augustine Gyasi reiterated the significance of peace and stability in society. He praised the efforts of the police under Dr. Danpare’s leadership, acknowledging their role in facilitating a successful and secure event. Dr. Gyasi also called upon all Ghanaians to be advocates for peace, urging citizens to stand against violence which threatens the well-being and prosperity of innocent lives.

As the nation gears up for the elections, initiatives such as the ‘Big Campaign Walk’ by Aujess  Co. Ltd serve as vital reminders of the collective responsibility to nurture peace and stability. The success of this campaign not only fosters a sense of community but also highlights the integral role businesses can play in promoting social good.
