The Nungua Traditional Council has expressed displeasure over an ongoing boundary demarcation around the Nungua Omanjor area by the Lands Commission and the Sowah Din Family of Teshie without recourse to concerns of the Council.
Speaking to the media in Accra, the Nungua Oblantei Mantse, Nii Bortey Kplɛn Dzalɛsene, said his reaction is in relation to some media reports that the Sowah Din Family has trespassed a parcel of land which falls within the Nungua Stool Lands in the name of demarcation. According to Nii Okplɛn, the law mandates that in a situation of land demarcation, all parties that fall within must be duly notified however in the current development, the major party has been sidelined.
Nii Kplɛn Dzalɛsane advised the Lands Commission to follow the example of a similar boundary demarcation between the Nungua people and Tema where both parties met with the Commission and an amicable solution has been drawn for total cohesion.
Recounting the history behind the Nungua Boundaries, the Nungua Dzaasetsɛ, Nii Botwe Laryea, said the Lands Commission knows best and entreated them to be prudent in their operations for the peace to prevail.
