The customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA),in partnership with the Narcotics Control Board(NACOB0, has seized 253 Kilograms of Indian Hemp popularly known as “wee” at the Elubo Border.
The Sector commander of CEPS at Elubo, Mr Edward Osei, in an exclusive interview with the New Crusading Guide said the accused person, one Osman Sombi, was arrested at the Ghana side of the Boarder early this week when he attempted to cross into Cote D. Ivoire with an Ivorian Registered BMW Saloon Car which contained the substances.
CEPS and NACOB officials did a search of the car when the suspect attempted to cross to the other side and found four packages, that’s 253kilograms of substances suspected to be cannabis”.
“The suspects have been on our radar for some months now and this time we got him with the substances. We are yet to determine the street value of the substance. Our investigation has proven that the suspect is an errand boy of the Kingpin, Diaarrassouba Fabou who is an Ivorian. We hear he has run away upon hearing the arrest of his boy. However search is underway to apprehend him”.
He thus appealed to the government to provide them with sniffer dogs and close circuit Television Camera so they could do better monitoring “he added
