The tension in the famous Fatal family seems to be escalating with issues of acrimony, racism, discrimination and illegal sale of existing family properties by grandchildren with no consideration for posterity.
The grandson of the late Fouad Fattal, Mr. Foad Fattal, a Ghanaian, who succeeded in convincing the former president, Jerry John Rawlings to release his grandfather’s confiscated properties has had a shock of his life due to the way the other family members from Lebanon have sold all these properties, including the one he stays in after ejecting him with the help of the Police.
The situation has brought real tension in the family as the other family members of color from Lebanon continue to intimidate and harass Foad fatal because he is black.
Speaking to the New Crusading GUIDE in an interview, Mr. Foad Fattal said,’’ after my Grandfather and his brother passed on, all his properties in Lebanon, UK, and other countries were sold aside the cash in his accounts at the time. I was never involved in the sales and wasn’t given a dime from the proceeds because they claim I have a half Lebanese father and half Ghanaian mother and therefore does not merit any share of the proceeds.’’
‘’I was abandoned to my fate and I went through a lot of mental, psychological and emotional stress. It was only some good Samaritans and one of my uncles, Fawaz Fattal, who have all this while, supported me. Upon their instance and support, I petitioned His Excellency the late president Jerry John Rawlings to release the confiscated assets of my late grandfather. The late president granted my request and released some of the confiscated assets belonging to my late grandfather on compassionate or humanitarian grounds because of the injustice that had been meted out to me in person following the death of my grandfather.’’
‘’ As soon as the properties in the various parts of the Accra metropolis were released, some of my siblings and uncles took over their administration and ganged up against me. They side-lined me again. They vowed that they wouldn’t get a dime or any benefit from the properties released to me. I mean the properties that were released because of my petition to the government.’’
‘’They started selling the properties at Spintex, Cantonments and other places and shared the proceeds truly, without giving me a dime from the proceeds as they did after selling the other properties in UK and Lebanon.’’
‘’Under the giving circumstances, I also took possession of one of the properties left at North Industrial area when I got wind that they were planning to sell that as well. They always sell the property behind me, split the proceeds and leave the country with the money.
In 2012, in their desire to take the only one property, I have also taken possession of they sent the case to court and employed some fictitious tactics using a ghost name to represent me. They sued me without notifying me or serving me with a writ and paid somebody to show up as me in court using the actual physical address of the property I had taken possession of. Interestingly they managed to get a ruling in their favor and attempted to use that to evict me from the property.’’
‘’The good Samaritans as usual promptly rallied support and came to my rescue and the bailiffs realized that I wasn’t the one sued in the court documents but rather a ghost name and they backed off. Even after the failure to evict me, Ahmed Fattal and Jamal Mujalled sent me to the Police Headquarters in Accra where they had connived with some police commanders to intimidate me and possibly eject me from the property. Once again the good Samaritans stepped in and told the police the facts and truth and they backed off afterwards.
Still bent of achieving their unjust agenda , my detractors who are namely Saba,Fattal , Ahmed Fattal ( in charge of the sales of the property ) Radwan Faisal Fatal and Jamal Mujalled ( in charge of forgery of documents and churning out misinformation to make their case rather look good to others) influenced the Accra Metropolitan Assembly in 2016 to lock up the property I occupied because they claimed I didn’t have an indenture of the building and not that I had broken any law.’’
‘’Somewhere in September and October 2021, the same people went to court again using the doctored 2012 court ruling and succeeded this time in getting a ruling to possess the property I live in. The judge was made aware by my lawyer in court that in the 2012 ruling I wasn’t a party to the suit but the judge still went ahead and granted them the right to possess the property. Using the doctored court ruling my detractors recently used the police to take over the property from me. I am therefore appealing to the good people of Ghana, the president of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo use his good office to help me secure justice. I need to get justice for what belongs to me.’’
