A group calling itself Concern Lotto Agents Association of Ghana (CLAAG), has called on President Akufo-Addo, to ensure that a proper stakeholders meeting is done before the appointment of a new Director General of the National Lotteries Authority (NLA).
They noted that a proper stakeholders meeting before the appointment of an NLA Director would go a long way to address the challenges that have bedeviled the Authority and Lotto Agents for years.
Speaking at a news conference in Accra last Tuesday, the Executive Secretary of the Association, Mr. Kwaku Duah-Tawiah, expressed worry about how their operations continued to suffer in the hands of the NLA for years.
“The only way we can work effectively for the benefit of us and the country at large is when we have a hand in the appointment of an NLA boss,” he noted.
According to him, the association has been at peace with the government and therefore does not want such cordial relationship to be threatened because of the behaviour of some individual government officials.
