Ianmatsun Global Services, organizers of The Health, Environmental, Safety and Security (HESS) annual award has awarded St. Andrews Senior High School as the most secured facility and outstanding academic performance for the year 2021 in the private school category.
The Health, Environmental, Safety and Security annual awards is designed to identify and publicly recognize and celebrate outstanding companies for exceptional performance and innovations focused on occupational Health, the Environment and Employee and Stakeholders safety and Security.
Other categories were; Best Community Involvement Hospital/Clinic, Best Company in Customer Safety and Security Practices, Best Company in Eco-Friendly Product, Best Company in Employee Road safety Education, Best Company in Employee Safety and Security Management, Best Company in Environmental Management Practices, among others.
Speaking under the theme “Recognizing, Outstanding Achievement and Celebrating business Excellence and Innovation focused on occupational health, Safety, Security and environment” at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra, organizers of the event, Ianmatsun Global Services, said, the health, safety and the well-being of employees, event attendees among others remains a top priority as COVID-19 continuous to impact on the people and countries around the world.
According to them, COVID-19 remains a global challenge and the need for businesses to deal with the realities is non-negotiable.
“It is incumbent upon all of us to remain aware and vigilant of this public health threat,” they said.
They also called on businesses to play their part in maintaining a healthy and safe event and take all COVID-19 protocol measures seriously.
Speaking after the event, the Chief Executive Officer of St. Andrews Senior High School, Dr. Richard Kofi Asiedu, expressed gratitude to the organizers of HESS awards for recognizing his efforts in these challenging times.
He also thanked the teaching and non-teaching staff as well as parents for their continuous immense contribution to the school’s academic laurels.
He said, “Receiving such a monumental award in COVID-19 era means our efforts in ensuring a COVID free environment and providing sound academic work in all our campuses are seen by many, and this award comes to motivate us to go the extra mile in helping our immediate environments to also follow our footsteps.”
He urged his colleague proprietors and proprietress as well as businesses to make provisions of all the things that help in the fight against COVID-19 and advised the practice of good hygiene in the homes and work places.
