The Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, also Member of Parliament (MP) for Akuapem North in the Eastern Region, Nana Ama Dokua Asiamiah, has donated some computers and accessories to schools within Mangoase in her constituency.
The MP made the presentation over the weekend to the New Mangoase Methodist School during a town hall meeting held in the community.
At the presentation, she noted the donation was part of her commitment towards education to enhance teaching and learning in the area.
Apart from the donation, she also used the opportunity to highlight some of the projects being undertaken by the Akufo-Addo led government and her outfit for the commuters in the area.
In the course of the program, especially at the point where the computers were being removed from the car for the presentation, some Okada riders started making noise, thinking the MP was about to present cutlasses to them.
However, upon realizing that the package was rather computers that will aid teaching and learning especially in the field of information technology, the okada riders ate the humble pie and lauded the MP for providing their school with such useful resources as computers.
The Mankrado of the community commended the MP greatly for her kind gesture, and her proactivity of engaging the community even though the time for elections isn’t closer.
He again urged the MP not to relent on her efforts, but continue her familiarization tours within the area.
This, he said, will be of great importance as far as keeping abreast of what happens in the area is concerned.
