The head of Communications and Public Education at the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA), Mrs. Rhoda Ewurabena Appiah, has been adjudged the corporate communications personality of the year (Public Sector) at the just ended 2nd National Brands and Innovation Summit & Awards on 26th May 2023 at La Palm Royal Beach Hotel, Accra.
Ghana Corporate Brand Awards provides credible recognition for the most popular & trusted brands in Ghana. The award is intended to bring together the most credible and consistent companies across various industries.
FDA also emerged as part of top 20 brands in Ghana’s Public Sector.
Mrs. Rhoda Appiah plays instrumental roles in delivering several institutional advancement initiatives through the provision of professional and strategic communications support for key projects and programmes of the Authority.
Prior to Joining the FDA worked as head-Corporate Affairs and Administration, Public Procurement Authority (PPA, Ghana) & Component Lead-Ghana’s Public Financial Management Reforms Project-World Bank Project 2017-2020
She was appointed as PPA’s representative on the Africa Public Procurement Network (APPN) for the promotion of strategic partnership and career development in Public Procurement in Africa and also became a member of the Steering Committee for Ghana’s United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) Review 2018.
She was also appointed as Chairperson of GIZ’s Alliance for Integrity Network (AfIN)- representative of PPA and PPA’s representative on the Ghana Anti-Corruption Coalition (GACC) Governing Board 2019.
She is an Accredited Member of the Institute of Public Relations-Ghana and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS), London
