Former District Chief Executive (DCE) Officer of the Shai-Osudoku District in the Greater Accra Region, under the erstwhile John Dramani Manama administration, Emmanuel Odoi Lartey, has been accused of attacking legitimate property owners at Dodowa.
The former DCE, allegedly accompanied by top security officials yesterday attacked the owners of the land which he has no documents to prove ownership.
Narrating the sudden incident to the media yesterday, Mr. Emmanuel Madrid, spokesperson of the Takporm Family, stated that “We were working on our land at Dodowa this afternoon when the former DCE and his team of fully armed security officials approached us and started beating us.”
He indicated that DCE who led the security officials ordered his team to continue to attack them until they vacate the land.
The about three acres land, Mr. Madji disclosed, legally belong to the Takporm Family and expressed worry over why the former DCE should continue to use his past political power to be attacking them.
“We have reported the actions to the Shai-Osudoku Traditional Council, in which the Former DCE was invited but he turned down the invitation by the traditional authorities owing to his arrogance,” he informed.
According to Mr. Madji the former DCE started attacking themover their property just after he lost power in 2017.
He called on President Akufo Addo, the National Security, Inspector General of Police (IGP) to come to their rescue.
He, however announced their readiness to battle the DCE and his team if they continued with their illegal actions on them as a Family.
“We have reported the incidence to the Dodowa police and we are looking forward to them to invite Mr. Lartey for query,” Mr. Madji hinted.
Meanwhile, several attempts to speak with the Former Shai-Osudoku DCE prove futile. A text message sent to his number which read: Good evening Honourable, plz my name is Mr. Alex Boye, with the New Crusading GUIDE, am calling you to hear your side of a story of a Family accusing you of attacking them on their Land at Dodowa last Monday, was not responded as at the time of going to press.
It will be recalled that, this paper in 2014 published a story about the family accusing Mr. Lartey of using political power to harass them over their legally acquired properties.
Mr. Lartey, upon hearing of the news came out to deny the story, saying that he owned no land at Dodowa, and described the story as false.
He threatened to sue any media house that continue to publish story of him owning any property at Dodowa as a DCE of the area.
