The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Officer of the Ga East Municipal Assembly in the Greater Accra Region, Janet Tulasi Mensah, has been honoured as the overall best MCE for the year 2019 at the Ghana Leadership Awards 2020 held over the weekend.
The MCE stood tall among the other top personalities that were nominated.
The Ga East Municipal Assembly itself was also recognized on the day as the best Assembly for the year.
The 2020 Ghana Leadership Awards was held under the theme “Celebrating our heroes in a peaceful Ghana one people working together”.
The awards is annually held to recognise the leadership impact of individuals and organisations that have made outstanding differences to the social, business or educational landscapes, employment, innovation, poverty eradication, philanthropy work building nations and promoting peace locally and worldwide, encouraging values and practices of a culture of peace, fairness, rule of law nonviolence, human security, disarmament or the peaceful resolution of conflicts as a means to achieving ethnic, political, economic, living in peaceful coexistence thereby creating opportunities for people in the local communities whose works are recognised as extraordinary.
The awards also seeks to honour leaders for their exemplary contributions towards Ghana and Africa’s growth in economic, social, political and leadership development.
Many personalities were also honoured in different categories at the occassion which attract thousands of people.
In an interview with the media after receiving her award, Madam Tulasi Mensah, expressed joy for the honour given her, adding that it would go a long way to improved her works.
She dedicated the award to the entire staff of the Assembly as well as the Assembly’s core media team.
The MCE therefore admitted the award has throwed a big challenges to her and herĀ staff to exhibit hard works for the betterment of the country.
