The Divissional Chief of Gbetseli in the Kpone Traditional Area in the Greater Accra Region, Nii Teye Kojo Amankwah Sune I, has registered his displeasure over the absence of developmental projects in the area.
The Chief said, the area is facing serious challenges with bad road networks, schools blocks, health centres, sanitation challenges among other challenging situations.
He disclosed that even though residents in the area pay their taxes yet they are unable to boast about any developmental project as other areas.
The chief has stated that past and the current governments have turn -deaf ears to their cries for social amenities.The Gbetseli Chief mad this known at the 2022 thanksgiving ceremony by the good people of the area over the weekend.
He noted the area have been neglected when it comes to developmental projects and declared their readiness to boycott all subsequent general elections if their challenges remained same.
The chief indicated that there has been few nuisance of insecurity, and believed the best way to curtail it is the need for a 24/7 security patrol in and around the entire community.
“We have for many years contributed immensely in the area of tax paying towards the development of the entire nation and we could therfore not understand why our situation should remained same” the worried chief stated.
The ceremony was also used to raise fund for the construction of school building at Soldier Line as part of enhancing quality education in the area.
Education, he said is the bedrock of the society, but there is only one government school within the area with a huge children population.
Education the traditional leader noted is the key to the development of every country and called for supports to promote quality education in the area.
Nii Sune I appealed to the community members to continue to contribute towards the development of the area for their own benefit.
