Many Ghanaians yesterday thronged the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) to catch a glimpse of the latest expose by ace undercover investigative Journalist, Anas Aremyaw Anas dubbed Galamsey Economy.
People from the diplomatic community as well as from respectable institutions, and so many individuals from all walks of life were seen in a long queue at the premises of the Conference Centre waiting to have a glimpse of the much-awaited Galamsey Economy, which featured ousted minister of state at the finance ministry, Charles Adu Boahen.
The recently removed Minister of State at the Finance Ministry, Charles Adu Boahen was captured in the corruption scandal by investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, and his Tiger Eye PI team.
According to Tiger Eye PI investigations, Mr. Boahen said Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia could be paid $200,000 as an appearance fee for investors.
This is in addition to positions offered to the Vice President’s siblings.
The story sent the government scrambling, with the Vice President dissociating himself from the alleged conduct of Mr. Boahen followed by President Akufo-Addo sacking the minister.
This should serve as a warning to our politicians who love to dirty themselves in corruption that they are being watch and would be exposed. We keep telling them to flee from corruption but they wouldn’t listen. I am happy that the minister has been exposed and also been sacked by the president. It will serve as a deterrent to the other corrupt ministers”, one man told reporters after watching the report.
Filming of the video is expected to continue today with many people expected to watch in numbers.
