The Member of Parliament for Dormaa East constituency and the Vice chairman of the foreign Affairs committee, Paul Apraku Twum Barimah, has appealed to government to properly resource Ghana’s Mission in New York in the United States of America to enable the staff deliver quality service.
According to Paul Twum Barimah , the Embassy currently operate a fleet of 4 cars which is not enough to handle the pressure it encounters in the performance of its duties.
The interesting part of this whole issue is that officials of Ministries Municipal and District Assemblies depend on such facilities and the meagre resources of the Ghana Embassy in US when they travel. They expect the Embassy to fund their intercity travels and sometimes using their bank cards to book accommodation.
This needs to change Officials of Ministers Municipal and District Assemblies should bear their own cost when travelling and not rely on the meagre resources of the Embassy. Besides, the cars owned and managed by the Embassy must be increased to enable officials contain the pressure and be able to deliver their services without obstacles
