The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Joy Industries Limited Dr. Manfred Takyi has complained bitterly about neglect by some Ghanaian celebrities in advertising their products despite benefiting from the brand.
The company is relatively known for its quality and effective products such as Joy Dadi bitters, Joy Twedie ginger, Joy ointment, Joy soap, Vikil 20 (immune booster) has immensely contributed to the arts and entertainment industry.
The shy but down-to-earth CEO narrated that Daddy Lumba took a whooping undisclosed amount of money and Tundra to perform shows geared towards selling the brand but the musician failed in delivering on his promise.
Dr. Manfred Takyi in a trending video with Akuapem Poloo revealed that Joy Industries as a corporate entity has organized many programs and paid enough money to celebrities who were then struggling to survive in the industry.
However, the CEO of the company which prides itself on unrivaled high standards, from a selection of highest-grade materials to perfect processes that ensure maximum quality, efficacy, and safety of products indicated that none of the celebrities advertised any of their products on their social media handles.
According to him, celebrities are now demanding a contract before they promote the products of the multiple award-winning company on their social media pages, a development he described as unfortunate.
The CEO of Akwadum-based leading player in the herbal manufacturing industry in Ghana disclosed that it is sad that irrespective of the uniqueness of the company’s products these celebrities are not helping to promote them (products
“We have helped and paid sums of money to many celebrities with the shows we did with them. But unfortunately, none of them has displayed even a single product on their social media handles” he stressed.
The CEO angrily added “many celebrities owe us as I speak with you. Daddy Lumba took our money and a Tundra to perform shows to promote the brand but the sad news is that he (Lumba) did not deliver even half of his duties. it is very bad”.
Joy Industries since its establishment some years ago remains the only brand in Ghana that has engaged the services of well-meaning musicians and other celebrities in many of the programs held.
Joy Industries which has new products such as Hi-Speed and One Tym, and many others that have been recognized across the country and beyond has worked with many musicians across the country including Sarkodie, Daddy Lumba, Kofi Nti, Dada K.D, Obrafour, Kwawkese, Article Wan, Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, and many other celebrities.
The latest of such programs organized by Joy Industries was the 2022 edition of the Suhum Odwira festival where rap legend Obrafour, Eno Barony, Kwaw Kesse, Kwku Flick, and other musicians performed to entertain the people.
When contacted on the issue, Mr. Kwabena Agyemang Appiah-Kubi, aka Roman Father, who is also the chief executive of KAAK Entertainment and manager for Daddy Lumba stated “ I am not aware of the issue”
When he was further pushed he retorted “don’t ask me questions as if we are in court”
