The Kwaebibirem Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) in the Eastern region, Seth Antwi-Boasiako, is under fire and flaks for allegedly meddling and taking side in the raging chieftaincy dispute that has dragged on for years; between two feuding factions-Osaberima Asare Twe I and one other- laying claim to the Kade stool.
Judgement on the substantive chieftaincy issue is slated for Thursday, 29th September 2022, but tempers are flaring in Kade over how Seth Antwi-Boasiako has unilaterally decided to recognize the other claimant to the Kade stool to the chagrin of Kademan.
For instance, somewhere in 2019, at the sod-cutting ceremony at Kade for the construction of a court building, the Kwaebibirem Municipal Chief Executive elected to recognized and appear in public together with a faction of the claimant to the Kade stool when he knew he was not supposed to meddle in chieftaincy issues.
Details are also emerging that a fortnight ago, when it was widely reported that a 42-year-old suspect had been arrested by the Akyem Kade police for holding a pump action gun and allegedly threatening mourners at a funeral, it was the MCE who allegedly went to the funeral grounds with the embattled chief when the elders had reportedly agreed that for a peaceful coexistence, none of the feuding factions should mount the dais in full chiefly regalia.
“As long as Antwi Boasiako remains the Kwaebibirim MCE there would be no peace in Kade because the man has chosen his favourite and openly says that he wont recognised Osaberima Asare Twe as the legitimate chief. Now that he has made his stance public and judgement is slated for 29th, what becomes of his relationship should Osaberimwa win,” a distraught elder in Kade quizzed.
The Kwaebibirem Municipal Chief Executive, Seth Antwi Boasiako, who doubles as head of the Municipal Security Council (MUSEC), has conceded that security efforts needs to be improved in the region and indigenes of Kade say it is the MCE’s continues stay in office and meddling in chieftaincy issue that would be the triggered should there be any chaos.
“The conscience-soothing falsities from the MCE would be the trigger to any disturbance but as law abiding Kademan, we would use the legitimate means, as we are appealing to the president now to relief Antwi Boasiako, who has by his deeds proven to be a time-bomb, off his post, so that he could be carrying the umbrella of the person he is following as chief,” an elder of Kade man who wanted to remain anonymous for fear of victimization told this paper last Wednesday.
Meanwhile New Crusading GUIDE attempts to reach the MCE to responde to the allegation meddling in chieftaincy issues in the Eastern region hit on a snag as calls to his mobile phone were not answered.
