…Landguard Kingpin, Police Fingered
Information gathered by the New Crusading GUIDE indicates that several acres of Pineapple and Coconut farms have been destroyed by a group of people laying claim to the lands at Hobor, a village at the Amasaman Municipality in the Greater Accra Region.
The situation which caused serious trauma to affected farmers, this paper has learnt, was led by one Nii Bokokor and one Ahmed.
According to the information, Nii Bokokor and a group of persons were laying claim of ownership over those acres of land which contain the pineapple and coconut plantations.
Their action was moved by the assumption that the land belonged to them hence the right to destroy whatever was on it.
Eyewitnesses say Nii Bokokor and his gang stormed the site in the night when the farmers were not present to carry out the exercise causing trauma and financial havoc to the poor farmers who have toiled several years to till the land.
The Nii Bokokor’s gang trooped to the plantations with bulldozers assisted by the Amasaman police division for the action.
Information is their action was successful because of the heavy police support they were accorded on the night of the operation.
However, it emerged that the whole action was masterminded by a notorious landguard, Ahmed who resides in the community.
Meanwhile, the leaders of the Asabadi community are calling on the authorities to come to their aid and conduct thorough investigation into the whole development and bring the perpetrators to book.
However, the matter has been reported to the Amasaman Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for Investigation.
