Decorbuild has petitioned the Greater Accra Regional Minister over illegal possession of their land by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE of La Nkwantanang-Madina, Jennifer Dede Adjabeng.
According to the company, the MCE has taken over the said parcel of land situated at the Madina Market with Land Title Certificate No. 6767.
This illegal take-over of the land, the company said, was done by the MCE in collaboration with Joesam Construction which has begun construction works on the land.
In its petition, the company averred that it had lodged a complaint at the Ghana Police Service, Madina Division, after which Joesam Contractors were invited for a meeting on April 6, 2022.
The contractors however failed to attend the said meeting but sent a message through to the police that the MCE Jennifer Dede Adjabeng gave them the piece of land to develop shops.
According to information, Decorbuild got an injunction from the court to stop the contractors, but the contractors ignored the injunction and returned to the land.
Their return, this paper established, was at the behest of the MCE who is hell-bent on taking over the said land from its rightful owners.
Meanwhile the case is in court and with the Property Fraud Unit at the police headquarters.
Interestingly, the company has since its petition to the Regional Minister, not received any response.
Checks however indicates that the Municipal Assembly on its own, went for a search from the Lands Commission and received a report which suggests that the said area is affected by a Land Tittle in the name of Decorbuild.
