The NPP primaries which comes off tomorrow, 20th June 2020, has many aspirants left thinking about their own fates.
Tension appear to mount in some constituencies across the country with delegates accusing the party leadership of unfair treatment.
In Asante Akyem Agogo, some delegates resorted to cursing party officials for what they claimed was a scheme to delete the names of some 120 delegates from the constituency album.
Some delegates in the Mampong constituency have also made similar claims against the incumbent MP and constituency executives. Speaking to our reporter, one delegate alleged that, the names of our 25 people known to be sympathizers of Francis Addai-Nimoh, former MP for the constituency, have been removed the constituency album.
We are reliably informed that Francis Addai-Nimoh has petitioned the party leadership to get the matter amicably resolved. It could be recalled that, during the nomination period, the former legislator had a tough time procuring nomination forms.
Reports from the constituency so far, suggest residents have thrown their weight behind the former legislator hoping for his comeback on Saturday. One constituency who spoke to us on condition of anonymity, stated “we miss his humility, gentleness, and kindness”. Another constituent who is a traditional leader said “he has not been treated fairly as would be expected considering his standing in the party”.
Upon a visit to the constituency, one would find almost all taxis branded with the picture of the once presidential hopeful with posters splashed all over the constituency.
