On 22nd of June, 2023 Accra Sowutuom High Court presided over by Her Honor Doris A. Dabanka Bekoe (Mrs) has hereby ordered that, the defendants, agents, assigns, workmen etc or anybody claiming tittle through defendants are hereby restrained from interfering with the disputed land until the final determination of the land in dispute.
Brief history
The inception of the interlocutory injunction order was through Mr Kingsford Takyi Yankson the chief executive officer of Unikings Ventures Ltd who was authorized by the Kwaku Datre Family of Manhean to demarcate and register their tract of land measuring 4,692.11 acres for them.
This agreement was made between the Kwaku Datre family and Kingsford Yankson in 2021 when the family realised that their land which the Ghana Water Company formally requested 590 acres of land for relocation of Afoaman for the water Dam construction without compensation and the Ghana Water Company in extremity placed an embargo on most of Manhean’s lands and declared under (EI) Executive Instrument in 1977 under Ex. President Acheampong’s regime.
The EI declaration paved the way for the thugs to invade some parts of the land to the extent that they had been wielding offensive weapons in taking away customers’ land with impunity. All boils down to the failure of inadequate demarcation of their land.
However, these nine defendants were threats to my assignment, especially the 5th defendant Abu Majeed who tried and still trying to eliminate me. So, amidst the melee, we decided to take them to Sowutuom High Court where an injunction was placed on them till judgment in anticipation.
