The Member of Parliament for Tarkwa-Nsuaem and Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon. George Mireku Duker, has been appointed Campaign Coordinator for all Mining Communities by the Dr. Bawumia campaign, ahead of the 2024 elections.
The appointment, according to sources, is based on his extensive experience and deep understanding of the mining sector coupled with his strategic relationship with Miners and how he advocates for responsible mining activities.
His major task will be to articulate government’s achievements in the sector in the last 8 years and map out strategies for NPP to win massively in the mining communities.
By his designation, Hon. Duker is to ensure, lead and organize all campaign activities directed at miners and the mining communities across the country as well as managing teams, coordinating events and ensuring effective communications within these areas.
Again, he is supposed to develop and implement strategies that will effectively communicate the flagbearer’s policies on the mining sector to all relevant stakeholders. This includes miners, mining companies, traditional leaders and the wider public. The objective is to secure widespread support for the flagbearer’s vision for the mining industry.
Hon. Duker is also to ensure the flagbearer’s message resonates well and translate into electoral success in mining constituencies by targeting significant number of popular votes and parliamentary seats in those strong mining areas.
Putting the Miners Man in such a key role puts the opposition in a ditch in the mining communities.
