On 21st August, 2024, the Vice Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, has taken his campaign to the Ahafo Ano North Constituency to galvanize support for the flagbearer of the party, Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
He used the opportunity to endorse the parliamentary hopeful, Honourable Eric Nana Agyeman and further engaged stakeholders in the district at the Tepa Manhene’s palace where he explained the party’s proposed policies and programs in the 2024 manifesto of the party.
The gathering included Chiefs, the Local Council of Churches, the Council of Imams, the Apagyafie Stool Lands and others. The Tepahene, Nana Atwenewaa Ampem II, extolled the long-lasting relationship with Dr. Prempeh’s family and affirmed the significant developments in the municipality due to Dr. Agyemang intervention and support.
Dr. Prempeh and his team also visited Tepa Senior High School, where he inspected a library being constructed by the candidate. He discussed the Free SHS policy, highlighting its benefits, including the increase in enrollment. The current MP, who is bowing out, praised and supported his successor, Nana Agyemang, based on his humility and intelligence, in line with the NPP’s teachings. Nana Agyemang appreciated the outgoing MP’s kind endorsement.
At the rally, Dr. Opoku Prempeh and Nana Agyemang asked the crowd to endorse Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia by voting for the NPP in the next elections. Dr. Opoku Prempeh also endorsed his brother, Nana Agyemang Prempeh, as the best candidate to lead the constituency in the journey ahead.
