A former parliamentary candidate aspirant for the Anlo constituency, Mr Wonder Victor Kutor has been cleared by the Vetting Committee of the National Democratic Congress, to contest for the National Executive Committee membership slot of the party.
Mr.Kutor, who is going into the contest with 18 others, is seeking to be one of the five elected executives members to serve the party.
A former President of the Student Representative Council of the Ghana School of Law, Mr. Kutor told Journalists his vetting was largely based on a petition submitted to the Committee on his stewardship at the law school.
After a fair hearing, he was cleared and according to him it is a sign of good things to come.
“Prior to declaring my intentions to contest, a petition was made against my candidature in relation to allegations levelled against me whilst in office as SRC President but the Committee gave me an opportunity to hear me and I was cleared”, he pointed out.
“The Audit report from the Ghana School of law for 2021/2022 Academic year confirms that all sponsorships cash were paid into the Ghana School of Law SRC account and not paid to the President personal account”, he further explained to the Committee.
“Page 21 of the audit report also confirms that all the monies were used for SRC related expenditure”, he added.
His vision, he therefore outlined is to strategize for the party in going into 2024 elections which has a great tendency of recapturing power from the inept NPP government.
An elated Mr. Kutor who is also a former deputy constituency secretary for Anlo in the Volta region, said he is battle ready to aid the comeback of NDC to power if given the nod as the National Executive Member.
During the last NDC administration, Mr. Kutor worked as a special assistant to the Deputy Minister for Energy & Petroleum, Hon. John Jinapor. He is currently the owner of Kutor Farms and an immigration consultant.
The Vetting committee was chaired by Lawyer Abraham Amaliba. Other members of the Vetting Committee are Former Attorney General, Lawyer Betty Mould Iddrisu, Hon. Amb. Sam Pee Yalley, Mr. William Wilson Agbleke, Hon. Hajia Laadi Ayamba, Hon. Elizabeth Agyare Ofosu who is also a lawyer and Member of Parliament for Techiman North.
