That the tenures of office of the Director General (DG), Kofi Osei Ameyaw, 61, and his deputy, Yaw Amoakohene Baafi, have expire is by now no news. What is new is that whilst everyone exits when the time is due at a particular public or private entity, the two are fighting to stay on.
Allies of Osei Ameyaw, LMCs and some staff are lobbying strenuously for the man who was already working on a year’s contract to be given another year, while those working for his deputy, Amoakohene Baafi are also working harder to ensure that Osei Ameyaw leaves because his time is due.
Consequently, since his tenure expired in 20th February this year, Osei Ameyaw and his deputy, insiders say report to the office virtually every day when technically they are supposed to be home waiting for what the future holds for them.
Meanwhile, sources at the state’s lottery authority say that the Union workers will be holding a press conference today, barring any unforeseen circumstances to press home their demand for the two to be shown the exit since they are refusing to go.
