A New Patriotic Party National Organiser aspirant, Bright Essilfie-Kumi has been accused of playing a key role in the alleged sale of an Agenda 111 contract to private business man with the company name Raabest Limited.

The 8.4 million dollar contract   with the office of the President reference number SCR/DA197/542/01/Q to be executed in Akatsi South District in the Volta Region according to the NPP national Organiser hopeful was originally awarded to Rajar Engineering, a company that has no capacity to execute the said contract hence the need to sell it to the highest bidder, Mr Essilfie-Kumi explained.

Essilfie-Kumi, in a telephone interview noted that “the contract was awarded to a company owned by one Alhaji who doesn’t have the capacity to execute the contract; so they wanted somebody to execute the contact for a percentage.”

The National Organiser hopeful when contacted on telephone, didn’t deny that there was a sale of contract; and mentioned that he only came in as a middle man to be a witness to the said contract for sale transaction.

“I only came in to help with the drafting of the agreement between the parties and also received the check on behalf of the CEO of Rajar Engineering because the Alhaji was late for the meeting and time was far gone. I am innocent of this contract. I am only a middle man who gave them a lending hand.”

However, A Stanbic Bank Cheque of one hundred thousand cedis dated 24th of May 2021 was issued in his name where he subsequently went to cash same.

“I admit that I received the cheque on behalf of the Owner of Rajar Engineering but that was an error which I admit to”.

According to the private business man who was sold the contract, Wintema Anaba and his partners, “effort by myself and my partners to later get the details to the contract  yielded no result as the National Organiser hopeful kept on playing hide and seek game with us.”

Mr Anaba mentioned that “We therefore lodged a complaint at the Adabraka Police station where the said Organiser hopeful was arrested and a part payment of Ghc 50,000 cedis was deposited at the police station.”

He therefore promised paying the balance of Gh¢50,000 cedis within a period of one month but effort to get him refund the balance has since proved futile.

Attached is a copy of an agreement drafted by Mr Essilfie-Kumi between the two parties and a cheque of one hundred thousand in the name of Mr Bright Essilfie-Kumi.

Meanwhile government has committed $1.76bn to the construction and refurbishment of 111 health facilities across the country under the Agenda 111 health programme.

The project, known as ‘Agenda 111’, was initiated to cover 88 districts that had no dedicated hospitals.

The NPP goes to polls on Saturday to elect party executives to occupy some national positions of the party.

Among the candidates contesting for the national Organiser position is Mr Bright Essilfie-Kumi who is in the center of the Agenda 111 contract for sale saga.

He is contesting the position with the likes of Titus Nii Kwatei Glover, Henry Nana Boakye, Seth Adu-Adjei, and Eric Amoako Twum.

Many have tipped this position as one to be keenly contested due to the calibre of candidates contesting.
