Come Saturday, when over 6,000 of New Patriotic Party (NPP) delegates gather at Koforidua Technical University in the Eastern Region to vote for new sets of officers, who would steer the affairs of the party for the next four years, President Nana Akufo Addo would be one of the people the delegates would look up to in making their decisions.
Most of the contestants believe an endorsement by the president would go a long way to pave way for their victory on the day.
Ahead of the conference however, President Akufo Addo, has reportedly told close allies that he does not have favorites and, is ready to work with anyone voted for in the various positions up for grabs.
“Nana Addo is not supporting any individual contesting in the July 7 elections as being speculated in the media. Ignore any speculation that the President is supporting So or So candidate and let your conscience guide you,” an insider who prefers to remain anonymous indicated.
