The Deputy Communication Director of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Maame Yaa Aboagye (Yooyo), is being accused of using the names President Akufo Addo and the Inspector General of Police (IGP), to illegally chase innocent people from their legally acquired lands at Berekusu in the Eastern Region.
Mrs. Aboagye, according to information has deployed land guards to harass people daily on their legally acquired properties for her personal benefit.
She has further been accused of demolishing properties by land owners for her own interest through fully armed macho-men.
Though she is currently facing the law at the Akuapem- Akropong Circuit Court, Mrs. Aboagye, is also under firefor allegedly deploying macho menon daily basis to the area to further harass people of the area.
Narrating the issue to the media after a court at Akuapem-Akropong, last Wednesday, Mr. Gli, accused Mrs. Aboagye for illegally taking over his 11.7 acres of land.
Mr. Gli is said to have acquired the land from the legitimate family, expressed worry over how Mrs. Aboagye is using political power to take over his property and that of others too.
He said “I was nearly killed by fully armed men during my visit to my site weeks ago after I had a call from the caretaker of land of the presence of Mrs. Aboagye and her team of landuards at the place”.
According to him, the NPP Communicator has been threatening to kill him if he does not stop visiting the site he legally acquired with a huge sum of money.
“What Mrs. Aboagye always says to us is that she has backings from President AkufoAddo and the IGP and would surely take over the lands from them through political power,” he stated.
Mr.Gli, who cannot sleep in his own house owing to threats from Mrs. Aboagye disclosed that several petitions have been sent to the office of the IGP but to no avail.
Mr. Divine Justice Nikoi, .Member of the Family which sold the land to Mr. Gli, said described Mrs. Aboagye as a fraudster and should be dealt with by the law of the country.
“My Family has not sold any land to Mrs. Aboagye as she continue to claim, the only person we know to have sold a land to is Mr. Kwame Gli, and I want President Akufo to deal with Mrs. Aboagye if indeed law exist in the country,” Mr. Nikoi stated.
Meanwhile, when contacted,MaameYaaAboagye, indicated that the matter was before the court and would therefore not comment.
