The Ghana Police Service has arrested Fatawu Ibrahim alias Fatau Motorway, who was declared wanted in connection with the disturbances that occurred between supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at Mamobi in Accra.
Fatau Motorway was captured in a video footage carrying a gun during the disturbances. He is currently in Police custody and will be put before the court in due course, a statement from the police said, yesterday. The case is being prosecuted by the Office of the Attorney General.
Recall that following violent clashes between supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at Mamobi last 13 October 2024, the Police offered a reward of GHC20,000 for credible information leading to the arrest of suspect Fatau Motorway
The political confrontation, which escalated into a violent altercation, resulted in injuries to nine individuals, stirring tensions within the community.
Seven of the injured victims were treated and discharged while two are still receiving treatment at the hospital.
