Mfantsipim School has done it again — the Botwe Boys have stormed to back-to-back glory, clinching their fourth National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) title in a pulsating grand finale at the University of Cape Coast.

Dubbed the “Battle of the Giants,” the 2025 final saw three titans — Mfantsipim, St. Augustine’s College (AUGUSCO) and Opoku Ware School (OWASS) — lock horns in an electrifying contest that kept fans on the edge of their seats.

From the opening bell, the defending champions set the pace, racing ahead with 20 points in the first round as AUGUSCO and OWASS trailed with 17 each. The second round saw AUGUSCO fight back fiercely, snatching the lead with 27 points, but Mfantsipim regrouped and hit back in style during the Problem of the Day, reclaiming control with 30 points — just edging past AUGUSCO’s 29.

By Round Four, Botwe had seized full command, stretching their lead to 46 points while AUGUSCO held on with 42 and OWASS slipped to 29.

Then came the nail-biting final round — every buzzer mattered, every cheer roared louder. Calm under pressure, Mfantsipim powered through, sealing victory with 56 points, leaving AUGUSCO on 42 and OWASS on 29.

As the final bell rang, the NEC Auditorium exploded. Red-and-white flags filled the air, chants of “God is a MOBA!” thundered through the crowd, and the champions hoisted the trophy high — a fitting climax to another year of academic brilliance.

With this triumph, Mfantsipim School cements its place in NSMQ history — four-time champions and the first to win consecutive titles in over a decade.
