Elders of Mantse Ayiku We and Mantse Kwei We Clans of Nungua have denied knowledge of the installation of one Daniel Afotey Akotoi (a.k.a Afotey Srawa) as the Head of Mantse-We quarter of Nungua.
According to the Elders, the activity purported to have installed the Head of Mantse-We was null and void as that was carried out by disgruntled elements within the Mantse We Family aimed at imposing such an element as Head of Mantse We Family.
In a release, the Elders called on the various Clans of Nungua and the general public to ignore such claims, denying emphatically that the accredited Elders of the two families (Mantse Ayiku We and Mantse Kwei We) which constitute the Mantse-We quarter of Nungua had never nominated, selected nor installed anyone as Mantse We Weku Yitso (Head of Mantse We).
“Anyone who transacts business with the said element sighted in the video on behalf of Mantse-We does so at his or her own risk.”

Dear Head of Clan
DISCLAIMER – MANTSE WE WEKU YITSO
We the Elders of Mantse Ayiku We and Mantse Kwei We Clans otherwise known as Mantse We of Nungua, have taken notice of a video in circulation on social media platforms purported to have installed Daniel Afotey Akotoi (a.k.a Afotey Srawa) as the Head of Mantse-We quarter of Nungua. We wish to ask the various Clans of Nungua and the general public to ignore such claims. The activity purported to have installed the Head of Mantse-We is null and void as this was carried out by disgruntled elements within the Mantse We Family aimed at imposing such an element as Head of Mantse We Family.
We wish to state emphatically that we the accredited Elders of the two families (Mantse Ayiku We and Mantse Kwei We) which constitute the Mantse-We quarter of Nungua had never nominated, selected nor installed anyone as Mantse We Weku Yitso (Head of Mantse We). Anyone who transacts business with the said element sighted in the video on behalf of Mantse-We does so at his or her own risk.
For the information of the general public, there are only two gates that constitute the Mantse We quarter from which the Head of Mantse We (Mantse We Weku Yisto) is selected, thus Mantse Ayiku We and Mantse Kwei We. The purported house, from which the alleged Head of Mantse We had been installed, is one of the four lineages of Mantse Ayiku We Clan which has seceded from the Ayiku We Clan. They do not have the capacity to install the Mantse We Weku Yitso without the consent of the other three lineages of Mantse Ayiku We with the full complement of Mantse Kwei We.
We were reliably informed of some elements at the said installation programme who claimed to have been authorized to represent the Mantse Ayiku We Family. We wish to state that those elements at the programme have no locus standi to take decision for the house likewise the Manste Kwei We Clan.
We want to assure all the Mantse We family members of Nungua and abroad, the various Clans of Nungua and the general public that at the appropriate time, the two legitimate houses, Mantse Ayiku We and Mantse Kwei We (Mantse We) will come out with the accredited person to Head the Mantse We Family of Nungua. Whiles we wait patiently for the overall Head of the Mantse We Family, the two Heads of Mantse Ayiku We and Mantse Kwei We should continue to exercise their legitimate roles as the Heads of the two families respectively.
Thank you for your co-operation.
For and on behalf of the Elders of Mantse Ayiku We and Mantse Kwei We.
