The mortal remains of the late Benjamin Ato Acquah, a private security guard, was laid to rest at Abura Dunkwa in the Abura Asebu Kwamankese District of the Central Region.
The late private security guard worked with the GCB Bank, Abura Dunkwa Branch, was forty –years-old survived by a wife and four children.
The late Acquah died last year after a misunderstanding broke between him and a Zabrama man which unfortunately resulted in the death.
The Greater Accra Zabrama Chief who doubles as the President of Ghana Zabrama Association, Alhaji Pro-Umar Abubakar Tanko, sent a high -powered cabinet delegation to join thousands with mourners to pay their last respect to the deceased.
The cabinet members of the Greater Accra Zabrama Chief included: Waziri Musah Fesseini also known as Soroko, Abdul Salifu, Sarkin Yaaki, Zaid Pro-Umar Tanko, Majindadi, Humu Yakuba and Munira Mohammed, Jakadiya.
At the funeral grounds were past and present Assembly members, the Odikro of Abura Dunkwa, Nana Asokwa Kwegyir, and chiefs and queen mothers from different communities as well as several Muslims led by the Imam of Abura Dunkwa Muslim communities, Imam Umar Iddrisu also known as Imam Dodou.
The Odikro of Abura Dunkwa himself presided over the final funeral rites to show the significance attached to the funeral.
In an interview with Alhaji Pro-Tanko during the post-event report by his cabinet members at his residence in Accra, he thanked them for making the journey.
Alhaji Pro-Umar Tanko used the occasion to advise the youth not to take the law into their hands but always report to the Police since it is bad for people to take the law into their own hands, which invariably becomes a burden onto the chiefs.
He described the incident between the indigenes of Abura Dunkwa and the Zabrama Community as unfortunate and prayed that it should not recur.
He called on the people of Abura Dunkwa to continue to live in peace and harmony with one another and avoid hatred that might come out from the unfortunate incident since it had the potential to affect development efforts of their community.
Alhaji Pro-Tanko extended his appreciation to all the security agencies, the member of Parliament,the Omanhene of Abura Dunkwa, the Zabrama Chief of Abura Dunkwa, the Municipal Chief Executive, Regional and National NADMO Coordinators and the entire Abura community who, in diverse ways, helped in managing and promoting peace during and after the incident.
An amount of 2,000 GH¢was earlier offered to support the funeral arrangements, which was topped with an amount of 1,000GH¢ as donation to the widow and family at the final funeral rite. About six funeral rites were performed at the Market square that day.
