President John Mahama has inaugurated an 18-member Joint Cyber Security Committee to spearhead Ghana’s fight against growing digital threats.
The committee, composed of experts from government, security services, and the private sector, will coordinate strategies to protect critical infrastructure, financial systems, and national data.
President Mahama said the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to making Ghana a secure hub in the digital era. “Our nation’s progress depends on our ability to safeguard the digital space. This committee will ensure Ghana remains resilient against cybercrime and other emerging threats,” he stated.
The move comes at a time when global reports show rising cases of cyber fraud and digital espionage targeting African economies.
