Residents of Ekumfi in the Central Region are kicking against the Ekumfi Constituency Women Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Khadija Anderson who made it to the listof the District Chief Executive (DCE) aspirants in the area.
The residents especially women who are mostly traders and businesswomen have raised questions about why the NPP would allow a woman like Khadija Anderson who is caught up in many scandals, chiefly amongst them being an alleged GH¢210,000.00 School Feeding Contract scandal that hit Cape Coast recently.
Khadija Anderson, party supporters argued, should not have been allowed to contest for the District Chief Executive (DCE)in the first place, given that most caterers in the Cape Coast municipality have still not received their monies after rendering services to the School Feeding Program, yet monies have allegedly been paid into Khadija Anderson’s account for onward disbursement to the caterers.
Recall that Madam Khadija Anderson and her husband, Ike Lord Enu are alleged to have squandered a whopping GH¢210,000. 00 (21 billion old Ghana Cedis) belonging to caterers in the Central Region.
Madam Khadija Anderson who is also the Deputy Director for Monitoring and Evaluation at the Central Regional office of the School Feeding Secretariat in Cape Coast, together with her husband who is also the Mfantseman Constituency Organizer of the NPP, allegedly connived to defraud caterers who provided one hot meal for Junior High Students (JHS3) pupils in the Central Region of their monies.
Information is that Khadija Anderson alone was given contracts to supervise three (3) regions including Central, Western and Western North whilst her husband, Ike Lord Enu was contracted to provide one hot meal to school children in the whole Mfantseman constituency.
Meanwhile, whereas funds have allegedly been releasedpaid into Khadija Anderson and her husband’s accounts by the National School Feeding Secretariat for payment of services,the caterers are yetto receive their monies.
It is in the light of these that the people are kicking against her becoming their DCE.
According to them, Khadija Anderson cannot be trusted with a sensitive position as DCE and that all efforts must be made to either disqualify her or decline her nomination.
Meanwhile, similar incident is happening in Nfantsimam, where Khadija Anderson’s husband has also emerged to contest for the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) position.
The same scandal is causing majority of people including Assembly men and women to raise questions about his decision to become the MCE after failing to purge himself off the scandals he and his wife have been involved in.
Meanwhile, speaking on Adom FM, a private radio station in Accra yesterday,Khadija Anderson stated that all the allegation against her were false and that it is being given oxygen by those who do not want to see her become the President’s representative in the area.
