Members of Sefwi Akontombra Assembly have appealed to H. E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo- Addo, the President of the Republic of Ghana to re-nominate the current District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Yawson Amoah.
In a press statement issued by members of the Assembly, they indicated that the journey of Sefwi Akontombra under the leadership of Hon. Yawson Amoah as the District Chief Executive from 2017 has been very overwhelming.
They stated that, “It has been proved behind any reasonable doubt that, he has worked tirelessly to raise the flag of the District.”
The statement also noted that the recent victory of H. E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo- Addo and their Member of Parliament, Hon. Alex Djornobuah Tetteh in the just ended Presidential and Parliamentary elections in the District, is a testimony to how the people of Sefwi Akontombra District appreciated the work of the District Chief Executive.
“Mr. President, as representatives of the various electoral areas in the District, our core mandate is to seek for the development of our electoral areas which can only be achieved if and only we have a visionary District Chief Executive as we are currently having. His vision, hardworking spirit as well as determination transformed Sefwi Akontombra District under his stewardship,” they said.
They however plead with the president to renew the appointment of Hon. Yawson Amoah as their District Chief Executive to continue his good works.
They averred that, there are numerous projects and initiatives that the DCE has established which need Continuation to further raise the status of the District.
They noted that, “We can’t instruct the president neither can we command the first Gentleman of the Land who doubles to be the Commander in Chief of the Armed Force but we can inform our President about the happenings in the District since we know he has been a listening president since he occupied the high seat in Ghana.”
They observed that one of the qualities of His Excellency Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo-Addo is, he listens to his people and his people also listens to him therefore, they are very optimistic that, the President will do exactly what the Assemblymen are demanding from him.
