Assembly members of the Ablekuma Central Municipality in the Greater Accra Region, have called for the need of the reinstatement of their Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Marriama Karley Amui.
The over eleven Assembly members yesterday passed a resolution at a meeting calling on President Akufo Addo to retained their hardworking MCE.
They also vowed to vote against any nominee apart from Mrs. Amui to demonstrate their displeasure to President Akufo Addo.
Speaking with the media, the Presiding Member (PM) of the Assembly, Mr. Yakubu Abane Asoke, pleaded with President Akufo Addo to retain their MCE to Foster development in the area.
He noted the appointment of a different person for the position would go a long way to affect the development of the municipality.
Mr. Asoke who is also Assembly Member for Nmenmette Electoral Area, noted the Municipality has received massive development under the leadership of Mrs. Amui.
The PM noted the MCE has led to ensure that the area boosts of quality education, health, among other areas.
“Major roads within the area have also received improvement under the able leadership of Mrs. Amui and therefore deserve to continue with her works to help the assembly march with others across the country” he indicated.
He further described Mrs. Amui as a listening leader who leadership has co tribute towards the growth of the Municipality.
Though, the Municipality is new, the Assembly man confidently said it can boost of developmental projects in other aged assemblies in the country.
Mr. Asoke who is also the New Patriotic Party (NPP) 1st Vice Chairman of the Ablekuma Central Assembly has the necessary knowledge that has ensured that the Municipality receives international recognition due to development.
When approached, Mrs. Amui, thanked the Assembly Members for the confidence reposted in her and assured them of continued joint works for the betterment of the assembly in the coming years.
“I was surprised at the actions of the Assembly members, but I believe is because they realized my hood works over the years” she disclosed.
She said not to have disgraced the good people of the area and promised them of fireworks when retained by President Akufo Addo to continue with her works.
The MCE attributed her great achievements to the supports of the assembly members as well as the entire members of the Municipality.
