The Adontenhene of the Akuapem Traditional Area and Aburihene, Otobour Djan Kwasi II, has tasked President Akufo-Addo to do all that he can to develop the Aburi Botanical Gardens.

The Chief also reiterated the need for the privatization of the Aburi Botanical Gardens to invite investment to the tourist facility.

According to Otobour Kwasi II, the Gardens had lost its value and pride in recent years due to neglect by the government, lack of maintenance, and bureaucracy in its management.

The Aburihene said this during the celebration of the 2023 Odwira Festival which also marked the 35th Anniversary of his installation which was attended by President Akufo-Addo and some prominent chiefs from the region.

Otobour Djan Kwasi II, also called on Ghanaians to preserve their cultural heritage for future generations.

He further thanked the Almighty God for protecting the residents in the various communities within the Akuapem Traditional Area and wished a long life for everyone in the area.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, on his behalf also indicated that his government is doing everything possible to redevelop the Aburi Gardens which is part of the Government’s plan to boost the country’s tourism potential.

President Akufo-Addo In his remarks, said “The rebounding of our economy is already going on,” reflecting confidence in Ghana’s progress after difficulties in the past year, therefore urged Ghanaians to support his government to succeed.
