The parliamentary candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Nhyiaeso constituency in the Ashanti region, Stephen Amoah, is asking Ghanaians not to trust former president John Dramani Drama’s numerous promises in his bid to become president again.
The MASLOC Chief Executive in an interview with this paper stated that “The most important parameter to assess any manifesto in the world; including Ghana, is the proven record of the promisor or the principal brain behind the policies and programmes being presented to the electorate. It is crystal clear that Mr. Mahama cannot deliver what he and the running mate presented to Ghanaians”.
Performance Deficit
According to the investment consultant, after breaking many promises and woefully underperforming their own 2016 manifesto, how can Ghanaians trust the former president and the NDC who also promised a one-time premium in the NDC’s 2016 manifesto and never delivered?
“Mr. Mahama promised an average GDP growth of 8% per annum but failed and even they left about 3.2-7% in 2016. Mr. Mahama promised overall budget deficit of 5% and a single deficit inflation. He promised to establish at least 10 new Colleges of Education in the medium term and he failed to deliver all. Within 100 days every city in Ghana will be rid of filth. In fact, NDC under Mahama performed only about 27% of his promises making his performance deficit over 70%,” Sticker, as the affable CEO is fondly referred to stated.

NDC’s Development Policy on the Zongo Communities
Are Mr. Mahama and Naana Opoku Agyemang very honest? Do they really mean what they presented? How can the two present different policy titles? Are they just taking the Zongo Communities for granted?
Astonishingly, Mr. Mahama: Fund for Zongo and Deprived Urban Communities, Naana Opoku Agyemang: Fund for Zongo and Inner Cities. Who is speaking the truth? God has exposed them and telling Ghanaians who they are? How can they have different titles for the same policy?
Did they really think through it? Were they having different books or pieces of information? Hmmmm! How can they be trusted? Social Democratic Party President that withdrew pro-poor policies, allowances for teachers and nurses? Ironically, Naana Opoku Agyemang was the Cabinet Minister in charge of Education. Are they really social democrats? The incompetent pair at their worst.
No wonder Mr. Mahama has resulted to the use of tribal card in campaigning. When a leader lacks idea and does not own his vision, he ends up using insolent words.
Ghanaians must beware of the candidature of Mr. Mahama. It’s all cut and paste and playing semantics with the vocabularies of the already existing policies and programmes.
