Indigenous Insurance Company, Star Assurance has partnered Total Petroleum Ghana Limited, through the ‘Total Troxi Club’ Promotion, aimed at increasing the motor insurance penetration in Ghana.
The collaboration is geared towards selling motor insurance and related products to all commercial drivers, especially members of the Total Troxi Club and the public with the offer of free fuel based on the type of insurance product purchased.
The Troxi Club is an enhanced loyalty scheme launched by Total Petroleum in 2018 and is being partnered by Star Assurance, primarily to help commercial drivers reduce their fuel and lubricants costs and at the same time, offer those rewards for their loyalty to the Total Petroleum brands.
For the collaboration, Star Assurance will set up point of sales at various Total Service stations in addition to its existing branches to serve the Troxi Club members and other Total card bearers.
Executive Director of Star Assurance, Mrs Boatemaa Baffour-Awuah, speaking at the launch of the collaboration, indicated that, “We believe the coming together of Star Assurance and Total Petroleum Ghana, two solid and well-respected brands in our respective industries will bring far reaching added value to our cherished customers and patrons thereby enriching their lives”.
“It is important to state that, this collaboration with Total Ghana, is one of the many efforts Star Assurance is making in deepening insurance penetration and bringing insurance closer to the insuring public and making it more accessible,” she said.
According to her, an effective collaboration has the potential to extend the reach and visibility of the two brands to other segments of the markets that the two may individually not be dominant in, thereby deepening insurance penetration and availability.
Commenting on the initiative, Deputy Commissioner of Insurance, Mr. Michael Kofi Andoh called on businesses to roll out such initiatives to help increase the rate of insurance penetration in the country.
He called on motorists to verify the authenticity of products to ensure they are not short changed.
