Tempers are flaring within three security outfits-Immigration Service, Fire Service and the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), over the leaders of the institutions who have reached retirement age but are pulling strings to stay on.
At the Ghana National Fire Service for instance, a fake letter which is circulating that Deputy Chief Fire Officer (DCFO) Julius Kuunuor Aalebkure, Chief Fire Officer (CFO) has been given an extension by the Jubilee House is breaking the morale of the fire fighters as, according to them, the chief fire officers stewardship leaves much to be desired.
Julius Kuunuor Aalebkure, who turns sixty (60) in September is expected to be preparing to be bidding farewell to the Ghana National Fire Service but in a twist of events, he is allegedly parading the corridors of power lobbying for an extension of his stay.
Agitation are octave-high, with some even threatening open protest when news started making rounds that Julius Kuunuor Aalebkure could be playing a tribal card, seeking favour from the Interior Ministry, to be allowed to stay on for some extra two years.
Immigration
Monthly, if not weekly meetings are being help by some elements within the Ghana Immigration Service to ensure that Comptroller-General, Kwame Asuah Takyi, is shown the exit on or earlier than his retirement.

GRA
Barring any last-minute changes or extension, the GRA boss who took over from his predecessor Emmanuel Kofi Nti in October 2019 will be retiring from service in October but issues surrounding his age continue to haunt him.
Insiders at GRA say Revered Owusu-Ansah’s passport Number SX002649, issued on August 7 2019, indicated he was born on October 1, 1961, while information on his GRA document revealed he was born on October 10, the same year.
