The hard works of the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Office for the Weija-Gbawe Municipality in the Greater Accra Region, Mr. Patrick Kumor, has been recognized by the chiefs and people of the area.
The Traditional Authorities noted the MCE has within his two years in office ensured that the area boosts of massive developmental projects.
Nuumo Tettey Fio, Weija Wulomo, in his address at the commissioning of an Ultra-modern Kindergarten block at Weija constructed by the Assembly yesterday disclosed that the works of Mr. Kumor was beyond their expectations as traditional leaders.
The Weija Wulomo seized the opportunity and called on the general public to refute a recent media publication that some concern youth within the area want Mr. Kumor out of office by President Akufo Addo.
He called for the need of President Akufo Addo to reinstate Mr. Kumor as their MCE for the total growth of the municipality.
The newly constructed kindergarten block is meant which would accommodate hundreds of children is further meant to enhance basic education in the area.
Speaking in an interview with media after the ceremony, the MCE thanked the chiefs and people of the area for voting for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the December General elections.
Mr. Kumor indicated that the educational block is meant to solve an overcrowding of children in classes challenge that has entangled the school for years.
The MCE announced that many kindergarten block have been commissioned in the area under his tenure in office and further promised for more in the coming years for the enhancement of quality education within the municipality.
Mr. Kumor also seized the opportunity and pleaded with parents to prioritize investing in their children education for the betterment of their future and the country at large.
“The only legacy a parent or a person can leave for his or her children is quality education” the MCE noted.
Ahead of the reopening of schools next week, Mr. Kumor assured parents that the assembly has the needed measures in place towards the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic.
