…George Andah Says; Donates Hospital Equipment, Materials To Fight The Virus
The Deputy Minister of Communications and Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya West, of the Central Region George Nenyi Andah has donated hospital equipment such hand Sanitizers, beds, wheelchairs, protective covers to help with the fight against Covid-19, and hopes the constituency will record COVID free incident including Ghana.
He said, congratulated the district health directorates for the education an sensitization exercise they are embarking on to ensure that people are aware of what to do and what not to do in times like this.
The MP also spoke on the restrictions given by the President and indicated that the restrictions are to protect the citizenry from taking precautionary measures so as not to spread the virus.
He further stressed on Social distancing protocols, and said the Awutu Senya West constituency is doing well even though it was not mentioned in the lockdown but suggested that all the constituents should stay away.
He said: “…but is will just be sensible for us to observe our own lockdown and make sure we do not contract this disease.”
The MP also mentioned that the items donated contains everything that those fighting the virus need, pointing out that there has been support and collaboration from stakeholders in the constituency to ensure that Awutu Senya West has Corona free record.
The DCE for Awutu Senya West, Stephen Kwame Quaye also charged drivers to cut down on passenger level.
To him, the fight against the virus should be a collaborative effort of all and sundry as it required great sacrifice from all.
He revealed that the Assembly and DISEC formed a Task Ford that goes round on daily basis to ensure compliance and that their surveillance team is also working.
On her part, the Awutu Senya West Health Director Patricia Atwi, expressed appreciation to the MP for the items distributed and said the items will be distributed to all health centers and CHPS homes.
She appealed to Ghanaians not to panic but remain calm and adhere to all preventive measures.
