The Minister for Inner City and Zongo Development, Dr. Mustapha Hamid, has paid a familiarisation visit to the Madina Astro Turf where he commended Wembley Sports Complex for a good work done.
The visit, afforded the new minister to learn at first hand, the progress of work being undertaken under his outfit, as part of the policies and programmes aimed at improving the living conditions within Zongo communities across the country.
Speaking to the media after the tour, Dr. Hamid said he was impressed with what he saw and urged the contractor, Wembley Sports Complex Construction Limited (WSSCL), to complete the project as scheduled.
Hon Mustapha Hamid was satisfied at the progress of work at the stadium and stressed that he was committed to the development of inner cities and the Zongo communities to alleviate poverty and to equip the residents with relevant tools and opportunities.
According to him, the stadium was purposefully being built to engage the youth in unearthing and developing their God-given talents for their personal development and to shore up the nation’s talent bank.
He said: “The President (Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo) believes that every human being has a God-given talent and the State has the sole responsibility to create the avenue to explore that talents and put them to good use.”
Dr. Hamid urged the contractor to work to complete the project within the stipulated period.
