The Odikro of Akufokrom, near Nsawam, in the Eastern Region has been destooled by the Elders of the area for illegally selling lands without authorization
A ritual was commenced with the slaughtering of a goat by the Elders to signify his destoolment. At a press conference yesterday, the elders announced that Nana Duodu Kwao II is no longer the Odikro of Akufokrom and should be disregarded by the general public.
The Abusuapanyin Osae disclosed that the destoolment of the Odikro came as a result of his disrespect to elders of the community and the display of insubordination to the good people of the area.
“I want to emphasise that any person who deals with Nana Duodu Kwao II does so at his or her own risk” the Abusuapanyin warned.
He has also been cautioned by the queen mother of Akwamufie after she was informed of his destoolment. It will be recalled that a petition petition to the Queenmother of Akwamufie, stated ” I write to bring to your notice that Nana Duodu Kwao II has failed to comply with the directives given by your good office and has gone contrary to your instructions and selling the family’s lands with impunity”.
” Nana Duodu Kwao is an Ex-convict and there are several documents to proof that he was imprisoned because he was involved in smuggling activities at the border which we brought to the attention of Nana Abrewa Kwaobea of Ankobea Aduana Abrade Family of Akwamufie but he ignored the advice” Abusuapanyin Osae stated.
He also said the destooled Odikro known in private life as Padmore Kwadwo Tawiah Osae is presently facing criminal charges at the Nsawam Circuit Court for contracting landguards to kill one Kofi Anokye, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of KOANS Building Solutions. He has thus, been charged with an offence of trespassing into lands and properties belonging to KOANS Building Solutions.
“The Former Odikro is also facing a number of cases at the Police Station and in court over illegal sale of lands. He has also encroached upon lands bought by one Richard Abusua Yedom Quarshie which was bought from the Family and is winning sand and selling some and has therefore been used at the Nsawam High Court.
