The Chamber of Bullion Traders Ghana (CBTG) has issued a statement to congratulate Mr. Sammy Gyamfi (Esq.) on his appointment as the Acting Managing Director of Precious Minerals Marketing Company (PMMC).
In a statement signed by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Chamber Mr. Daniel Krampah, it stated that the Bullion Traders as major stakeholders in the Small Scale gold Mining sector pledges to contribute it’s quota to enable the Managing Director(MD) set up the planned Ghana Gold Board(GOLDBOD) to develop and ensure sustainable management and marketing of Ghana’s gold resources.
Mr. Krampah also indicated that the CBTG will lend their full support to Mr. Gyamfi formalize and streamline the Small Scale gold mining sector and as well provide mine support services to the industry which will in turn raise foreign exchange earnings and government revenue.
BACKJGROUD
The CHAMBER OF BULLION TRADERS GHANA is a representative body of Government licensed gold dealers, suppliers of mining logistics and consumables, mining services and allied activities in Ghana. It serves as an advocacy, lobby and representative body for the buying and exporting of gold produced by licensed miners in the country. The Chamber currently holds a membership of over twenty licensed gold dealers and providers of related services who account for over 35% of gold exports of Ghana.
The Chamber seeks to promote a sustainable gold industry in Ghana, promote partnership of members and lobby Government on gold trade policies and laws and discourage illegal trade.
As an advocacy group the Chamber has a prime objective of promoting and protecting the interest of its members, take along members in its journey of creating better environment for gold dealership and allied activities in the country.
