The minister for finance, Hon. Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson MP has begun his official duties with visits to agencies under the ministry.
The minister in his first day in office, visited the offices of Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), to acquaint himself with the activities and solicit for their support in achieving targets.
In addressing the commissioners of GRA, Ato Forson indicated that revenue is an important tool in spearheading development of the nation and that without requisite revenue, government projects and programs cannot be sustained and achieved.
He averred that, the nation depends on revenue which is critical to its development and urged GRA to do more so as to exceed it’s target for 2025.
The minister congratulated the GRA management for working tirelessly in achieving the 2024 revenue target.
He pledged to mobilize resources to help the GRA in their revenue mobilization drive.
Commissioner for GRA, Anthony Kwasi Sarpong assured the minister of the Authority’s resilience in ensuring that revenue is generated for the development of the nation.
The next point of call is the office of the Controller and Accountant General. Where the minister urged the Department to consider expenditures that will go a long way to help in pushing government agenda forward.
The Controller and Accountant General, Mr. Kwasi Agree congratulated the minister on his appointment and pledged his support.
