The nominee for the Shai-Osudoku District Assembly, of the Greater Accra Region, Mr. Fred Offei, has officially been confirmed by all the 32 assembly members as the District Chief Executive (DCE) Officer for area.
The colourful ceremony was graced by the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Henry Quartey, former DCEs for the area, General Secretary of the NPP, John Boadu, Traditional leaders among other top Government officials.
In his message of appreciation, Mr. Offei expressed his profound gratitude to God for his protection and guidance and his teaming fans for their support. “I express my profound gratitude to the Almighty God, for making it possible for us all to see this memorable day “.
He further urged the stakeholders in the district to unite and support him bring development to the various communities within the district
“The district as you may be aware is a new one, barely three years old but has since its inception been able to achieve its goals and objectives” he disclosed.
He noted the District is faced with challenges in the area of education, health, sanitation among a host of others but believed it would be addressed soon .
The DCE urged all and sundry to set aside their individual differences, forget the past and forge ahead in peace and unity towards the growth of the municipality.
“Our people in the district expect a lot from us and their expectations can only be met with a concern effort” Mr. Offei stated.
For his part, the Greater Accra Region Minister, Henry Quartey, thanked the eleven assembly members for their votes for the nominee, as he attributed it to the beauty of Ghana’s democracy.
The Minister, who is also the Member of Parliament for the Ayawaso Central Constituency, charged the assembly members and all people within the district to join hands with the DCE for the total development of the area.
Mr. Quartey assured that the government would continue to introduced initiatives that would lead to the massive development of the entire country
