The Communications Director of The New Patriotic Party, Richard Ahiagba, has outlined some major and critical infrastructural projects being undertaking by the governemt of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo across the country.
The projects, some of which have been completed, include the plastic waste recycling facility at Adenta, the 22-kilometre cape coast inner city roads, the Tamale Airport development phase II project and the structural improvement in the existing National Health Insurance Scheme.
Speaking on the project implementation measures, Mr Ahiagba said Ghana is witnessing a tremendous investment in the road, aviation educational, agricultural, health infrastructure and other sectors of the economy under the Akufo Addo government far more than what was experienced under the 8 years administration of Atta Msills Mahama combined.
The 22-km Cape Coast Inner City Roads project under the SinoHydro Master Project Support Agreement inaugurated by Vice President Dr. Bawumia; Takoradi’s PTC Interchange as well as Sunyani/Berekum Inner City roads are currently 50% and 60% complete respectively
In order to bring relief to Ghanaians in the health sector, the One-month mandatory waiting period for new aged NHIS subscribers has been removed for persons who are 70 years and above to allow them to enjoy instant access to healthcare from all NHIS accepted health facilities as soon as they enrol on the scheme
In addition, about 50 female farmers in the Bolgatanga Municipality, UE/R have been given 6,000-layer chicken under government’s Rearing for Food and Jobs programme with each of them receiving 120 layers, 12 bags of feed for use for three months as well as veterinary service package of antibiotics and vitamins for treatment of the birds
Besides that, the Tamale Airport Development Phase II Project which includes a modern terminal building, VIP lounge, 2 boarding gates, 4 self-service check-in kiosks, 8 check-in desks, airline offices, commercial retail areas, a multi-purpose terminal for Hajj travel facilitation and a 5km road network completed
GHC54.7 million disbursed to 344,389 LEAP beneficiary households nationwide for the 77th and 78th cycle benefitting over 1.5million Ghanaians
Meanwhile, the Plastic waste recycling facility established at Maledjor in the Adentan municipality under the Waste to Wages Project with the target of training the youth and persons with disability (PWDs) in plastic recycling
