Osu Kinkawe Asafoatsemei has issued press statement to sternly warn a certain Nii Adjei Adjetey who is banding around a fake document purporting to wrongfully project the Mankralo of Osu Nii Ako Nortey IV as the acting Chief of Osu in the aftermath of the demise of the embattled ‘Osu Mantse’
In the statement, the Asafoatsemei indicated that the Mankralo according to tradition can only assume the office of the Vice President of the traditional council because he comes from Osu Ashate We and that family do not make Kings and has no proximity to the Stool of Osu.
Below is the full text of their statement cautioning the general public and all stakeholder:
The OSU kinkawe Asafoarsemei led by the Dsaase Asafoatse, Nii Sarper Tempong III, would like to sound a very stern warning to Nii Adjei Adjiete a native from Tema, the man in the centre of all OSU Chieftaincy problems among others, that, we have come across a ” so called” fact finding report, in which we describe as a criminal attempt by a Non existing fact finding Secretariat headed by Adjei Adjiete and his cohorts to throw dust once again in the traditional fraternity among others.
The OSU kinkawe quarter, is the sole authority that takes charge of the OSU stool anytime it becomes vacant in the Acting Capacity as the OSU Mantse, with the Osiahene from Adjuwate We.
He together with the other three Dzaase houses from kinkawe, supervises the installation of another Chief, that legitimacy is the course and not the report being speculated by the ” so called” fact finding report.
Any attempt by any group to subvert the will of the people of OSU will not be countenance, and the Historical, Traditional and cultural norms of the people of OSU will remain same as the Kinkawe Asafoarsemei and the Asafo Company will deal ruthlessly with any such move.
We are therefore, by this publication, calling on all well-meaning indigenes and citizens of OSU, including the other quarters to throw their support behind the Kinkawe Dzaase and Asafoarsemei to help restore the lost traditional protocols of the Great OSU.
We are also by this notice, calling on the government thru it’s Chieftaincy statutory administrations, to use their good offices to help to re-establish our tradition and protect it accordingly.
