The Constituency Executives for the New Patriotic Party in Dome Kwabenya in the Greater Accra Region have taken delivery of five (5) Motor Tricycles from Ghana’s High Commissioner to India, His Excellency Michael Aaron Nii Nortey Yaw Oquaye Jnr.
These tricycles which were given to the Party Executives on behalf of the Constituency was a pledge made by H.E Michael Oquaye Jnr. some months ago to serve as a source of income generation for the Party at the grassroots level.
Handing over the keys to the Constituency Executives, yesterday through the Constituency Chairman who was not present but designated some members of the Executive to receive same, Mr Oquaye said the “These Tricycles given this day is to generate income for the Party at the Constituency level and it is the first step of many more such initiatives to come,” he said.
Mike Oquaye Jnr. who had earlier promised to serve the people of his constituency and help the youth to gain jobs whereas will make sure the needs of his constituents are met, averred that the growth of the party will also depend on the efficiency of the party structures, hence the presentation of the tricycles.
Receiving the tricycles the Second Vice Chairman of Dome Kwabenya George Nti said the donation would serve as a source of income generation which would also ease pressure on the executives.
He also assured HE Mike Oquaye Jnr that the Motor Tricycles would be used for the intended purpose and that accountability would be of the utmost priority.
George Nti on behalf of Polling Station Executives, thanked His Excellency Oquaye Jnr and prayed that more of these should come from his outfit.
Described as grass root man, some inhabitants of Dome Kwabenya Constituency were also on the view that Mike Oquaye Jnr should be given the chance to exhibit what he has in stock for Ga East Municipality since he is capable and competent.
